वहीं, भारत-कुवैत फाइनल मैच की बात करें तो मुकाबले का पहला गोल कुवैत के खिलाड़ी अलकल्ड़ी ने किया. इस तरह मैच के 16वें मिनट में कुवैत ने 1-0 की बढ़त बना ली. वहीं, इसके बाद भारतीय टीम को 17वें मिनट में गोल करने का मौका मिला, लेकिन चूक गई. बहरहाल, भारत के लिए 39वें मिनट में कप्तान सुनील छेत्री ने गोल दागा. इस तरह भारतीय टीम ने बराबरी कर ली. इसके बाद खेल 1-1 की बराबरी पर आ गया. हालांकि, दोनों टीमों के खिलाड़ियों को इसके बाद भी कई मौके मिले, लेकिन गोल में तब्दील नहीं कर पाए. बहरहाल, मैच का फैसला पेनल्टी शूटआउट में हुआ. जिसमें भारतीय टीम ने बाजी मारी.
